What is Hospice?
RMH Hospice provides quality, compassionate care when you or your loved ones are facing a lifelimiting
illness or injury. The team provides expert symptom and pain management, as well as emotional and spiritual support for you and your family.
RMH Hospice has been caring for our community for more than 25 years.
Is RMH Hospice only for people with cancer?
RMH Hospice provides care for anyone with a life-limiting illness. This includes Alzheimer’s, other types of dementia, severe heart disease, lung disease, kidney or liver disease, stroke, nerve/muscle deterioration, as well as cancer.
Can RMH Hospice provide care in a nursing home?
Yes, our team provides care wherever you live. This includes nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
What services does RMH Hospice provide?
RMH Hospice works closely with your primary physician and includes a team of physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, therapists and volunteers. Nurses come regularly to check on you or your loved one and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Certain medications and equipment are also provided by RMH Hospice.
When should hospice care begin?
When curing an illness is no longer possible, RMH Hospice care focuses on comfort and support. Ask your primary physician for a referral.
Who pays for hospice care?
Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance companies recognize the importance of hospice care and pay for it. You will not be denied RMH Hospice services on the basis of race, gender, handicap, age or
ability to pay.
