Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Using the power of your mind to reduce stress and relieve pain
Do you find yourself struggling with everyday life because of stress, anxiety, chronic pain or some other condition? Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a program offered by RMH, guides participants through the intensive application of mindfulness and its applications for coping with stress, pain, and other life challenges.
The MBSR program includes weekly meetings over an 8-week period and one day-long retreat. Participants are asked to commit up to one hour a day, six days a week to practices such as sitting and walking meditation, mindful body scans, and yoga.

Saturday Retreat, October 12, 9:30am-4pm in CR2/CR3 by the cafeteria
$300 (includes all program materials)
$5 late fee if after registration deadline: Friday, August 30th

About the Facilitator
Steven Keffer, PhD is a professor in the JMU Department of Biology, where he is actively involved in stress reduction research. He is a long-time meditator trained in teaching mindfulness-based stress reduction at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.
