The Sentara RMH Funkhouser Womenâ€™s Center presents â€œNourishment for Life: Life Choices for Health and Illness Prevention
.â€ This interactive workshop will feature keynote speaker Laura Pole, founder and president of Eating for a Lifetime. Laura will entertain us as she shares her empowering knowledge and humor about diet, health and disease prevention.
Laura will share her cooking expertise with us through a lively cooking demonstration. During lunch, weâ€™ll sample her recipes as prepared by A Bowl of Good.

About Laura Pole
Keynote speaker Laura Pole is founder and president of Eating for Lifetime, which provides consultation and education services for health supportive cooking and education. She is a health supportive gourmet chef, registered nurse, clinical nurse specialist, certified Nia fitness instructor, and a professional musician with over 25 years experience in health care.
Nia is a sensory-based practice that pulls elements from martial arts, dance, and the healing arts. Itâ€™s adaptable for individuals of all fitness levels â€“ from beginners to the advanced â€“ as it empowers each participant to connect the body, mind and spirit. Using a unique combination of 52 moves, participants can make Nia fit their needs by choosing from three different intensity levels.

The mission of the A Bowl of Good is â€œcommunity minded business that exists to bring a healthy, hearty, convenient & internationally influenced eating experience to an increasingly busy population. We place a priority on using local, fresh and all-natural ingredients.â€ A Bowl of Good has two locations in Harrisonburg: Mt. Clinton Pike and Port Republic Road.
