RMH Hospice invites the community to take part in its annual “Butterfly Picnic,” with reflection, music and a butterfly release in honor of lost loved ones, 12:30-2 p.m. April 28 at the JMU Edith Carrier Arboretum.
The free, family event will feature live music from the Spotswood High School Jazz Band and Shekinah, children’s activities, a walk through the Arboretum trails and a butterfly release. Families are encouraged to bring their own picnic.
“This is an opportunity for our families to get together,” said Andree Jeannotte, bereavement coordinator, RMH Hospice
. “We will have ‘a walk to remember,’ which is an opportunity for families to reminisce about their loved one. It’s really going to be an uplifting event. Springtime is a time of renewal and hope—that’s the message.”
Parking is available in JMU Convocation Center’s Lots G and F, across from the Arboretum. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on April 29, Jeannotte noted.
