The RMH diabetes support groups will host a Diabetes Product and Health Fair from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 13 in the hospital’s lower level conference rooms.
Community members with diabetes and their family are invited to attend this free informational fair. No registration is required.
“There are so many options for diabetes care now that people can find what works best for them and fits their lifestyle,” said Margret Roy, R.N., diabetes clinical educator. “The diabetes product and health fair allows us to display and demonstrate the newest equipment available while opening our support group to the community.”
Displays about current diabetes management products, such as glucose meters and insulin pumps, will be available. RMH staff will present programs about what diabetes patients should ask their doctor, how to read a nutrition label and more. Diabetes educators will also be available to answer individual questions about diabetes management.
RMH offers several free support groups for community members with diabetes including:
- Adult diabetes support group: Meets 7-8:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Hahn Building.
- Pediatric diabetes support group: Meets 2:30-4:30 p.m. the second Sunday of each month in the RMH lower level conference rooms.
